Our clients bought their home fully furnished from the previous owners, after living in both China and Tanzania, as well as their final move from the Midwest to the Portland area.
+Not much time passed before they craved a home which expressed their personal eclectic style. We set out to update some of the dated bones of their 1990s Forest Heights home, and fully furnish their main living spaces for their family of four. We were thrilled to find, tucked away in storage, collected keepsakes they had acquired living abroad and as passionate travelers. The family’s finished interior gives hints of their global passion for world travel, culture, art, and music.

Our client’s 1990s family room had mustard yellow walls, beige carpet, and a river rock
fireplace when we met. We completed a facelift remodel: transforming the fireplace, the floors
and the walls, and furnishing the family room with a custom sectional.
Our life is enriched by hearing our clients’ stories and getting to work with items they have
picked up along the way. We styled our client’s mantle exclusively using their art and
accessories – the tea set from China had never been taken out of the box.
Upholstered furnishings become even more special to our clients when we select custom
fabrics and details curated just for them.
This is our early design concept for the living room showing many of the elements of the finished space including furnishings, upholstery, lighting and the hand knotted rug.
