Buckle your Seatbelt
It is the most well-attended home tour in Oregon, and for the interior design community at large, being selected by a home builder is very exciting. I purposely use the word ‘exciting’. It is the same feeling you have when riding a triple loop roller coaster standing up – and the same excitement you feel when you are asked to sing, well – naked in an auditorium with a sold out audience.
Working as an interior designer on a Street of Dreams home is just like that.
This year, I join a small list of interior designers in Portland, Oregon that after their first roller coaster dream ride, decided to give it another go. I had to do it again. Call me crazy, I just like the rush. Angela Todd Designs is very proud to partner with Steel Creek Homes, LLC for the 2011 show at Brentwood Estates on Bull Mountain in Tigard, Oregon. The name of our home is Cascade Splendor, and we are ready to make a splash.
Steel Creek Homes is a second generation family-owned home builder who does it the old school way. They carefully build exceptional custom homes with quality, while providing exceptional customer service. This year we invited Mr. Michael Reper, an international interior designer who resides in Portland, Oregon, to partner with us on the project. We are ecstatic he said yes and we will be collaborating together. The interior design is going to be A-maz-ing!
Now back to that roller coaster ride…. What if you had a behind the scenes sneak peak at what it took to launch a Street of Dreams home? For the first time, in the 38th year of the Street of Dreams, we will be giving you that chance. We have a 5000 square foot home to plan, build and furnish in five and a half months. Some days it won’t be pretty. Buckle your seatbelt and hang on.
This video is the first of regular updates of building Cascade Splendor – a 2011 Street of Dreams Home featured in Brentwood Estates on Bull Mountain. Follow our progress by subscribing to this blog at the right, following us on Facebook, and/or following us on Twitter.
Turn up the volume! It was windy last Sunday!
